DOWNTOWN LUDINGTON MERCHANTS INVITE SHOPPERS TO SHOP, GIVE AND WIN
Inaugural Shop Your Community Day Happening November 7
Holiday shopping will kick off with an added purpose this November as Downtown Ludington launches its inaugural Shop Your Community Day, a new event celebrating local businesses while giving shoppers the opportunity to support the Mason County nonprofits they care about.
On Saturday, November 7, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., participating downtown businesses will donate 10% of their qualifying event-day sales to Mason County nonprofits selected by shoppers. Each participating business has nominated a nonprofit to be included on the official event list, but shoppers can choose any organization on the list to support with their purchase, regardless of where they shop.
“Every purchase made will help strengthen a local business while having a greater impact in the community by giving back to organizations that make our community a better place to live, work and play,” said Brandy Miller, spokesperson for the Downtown Development Authority.
In addition to supporting local businesses and nonprofits, shoppers will have the chance to win Downtown Dollars. Each qualifying purchase earns shoppers a tear-off prize entry for a chance to win one of three grand prizes: $500, $250 or $100 in Downtown Dollars. Downtown Dollars are redeemable at more than 40 participating locations throughout the downtown district.
“The more you shop, the more chances you have to win,” Miller said. “We hope shoppers will use the day as an opportunity to explore downtown, discover a new favorite business, find unique gifts, and support the causes that matter to them. Every purchase can make a difference.”
Shop Your Community Day offers an easy way for shoppers to combine holiday shopping with community giving. Whether they visit a longtime favorite or discover a new shop, customers can help strengthen Downtown Ludington while directing support to local organizations making a difference throughout Mason County.
